EXCESS OR UMBRELLA COVERAGE
EXCESS OR UMBRELLA COVERAGE
Excess and Umbrella Coverage provide additional liability limits above the limits of your underlying insurance policies. Excess coverage generally follows the terms of the underlying policy and applies when the underlying limits have been exhausted. Umbrella coverage may provide additional limits and, depending on the policy, broader protection than the underlying policies.
WHY DO YOU NEED IT?
A serious accident or liability claim can quickly exceed the limits of your primary insurance. Excess or Umbrella coverage provides an additional layer of protection that can help safeguard your business and assets from large claims and judgments. Higher limits may also be required by FMCSA regulations, shippers, brokers, or other contractual requirements, or simply chosen to provide greater financial protection for your trucking operation.
